Who is William Thomas Homes?

William Thomas Homes and its owners Tom and Paul Stephani, offer their clients over 40 years of construction experience. Projects ranging from $250,000 to $1,200,000 have been successfully completed in Monument, Colorado as well as Crystal Lake, Chicago, Glencoe, Rockford, and Woodstock, Illinois. We have extensive experience in new homes, custom home design and construction, land development, commercial construction and property management.

Tom Stephani is a nationally recognized speaker, trainer, and consultant on issues relating to the residential construction industry. He also writes extensively for industry magazines and is a columnist for Custom Builder Magazine. Tom is a Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and currently serves on the International Oversight Group. He is also the 2009 Chairman of NAHB’s 14,000 member National Sales & Marketing Council. Tom holds eight NAHB designations including GMB (Graduate Master Builder) and CGP (Certified Green Professional) and is a Member of the Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM).

On the local front, Tom Stephani was President of the McHenry County Home Builders Association in 1999, has chaired many committees, and was named its Builder of the Year in 2000 and 2002.

Paul Stephani began his career at William Thomas Homes in 2002 learning the industry beginning as a laborer and moving into administration and sales. Involved in the Home Builder's Association of Greater Chicago and the local Chamber of Commerce, Paul completed the Certified Sales Professional program volunteered for many events promoting William Thomas Homes and giving back to the community. After the completion of Dole Crossing in Downtown Crystal Lake, Paul moved to Chicago where he began working for specialized tenant improvement contractors in the medical, commercial office interiors niche. He also branched back out into residential construction managing the to completion custom homes on Chicago's North Shore in Glencoe. The stylish modern home won the "Key Award" for superior construction and design by the Home Builder's Association of Greater Chicago. Paul also holds the CGP (Certified Green Professional) designation and strongly believes that construction too can be an environmentally sound industry.

We are active members of the National Association of Home Builders and subscribe to the Residential Performance Guidelines For Remodelors and Builders as published by NAHB.
